Soulish in Disguise

True deliverance from sin begins at the moment of new birth, when a believer is united with Christ in His death and resurrection, and the body once ruled by sin is rendered powerless. However, salvation does not stop at the body—it must extend to the soul, where natural emotions, thoughts, and will must be surrendered to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Many believers remain soulish, mistaking emotional or intellectual experiences for true spirituality, and as a result, lack lasting fruit and spiritual power. God calls every believer to lay down their natural life—its attachments, instincts, and desires—and embrace a fully spiritual walk that reflects Christ through daily surrender, obedience, and transformation.
